Horsham’s second Festival of Sound today
Numerous live acts of musical talent will take to five stages across Horsham town centre in this year’s much anticipated Festival of Sound today (Sunday September 2).
The popular event burst onto Horsham’s social calendar for the first time last year.
It was founded by a small committee of ten people who aim to raise money for different charities and ‘bring the people of Horsham free outdoor live music events’.
The non-profit festival kicks off this morning with acts playing every hour from 11am to 9pm in The Carfax Bandstand, Market Square, Piries Place, The Forum and at Shelley Fountain.
Genres from blues to heavy metal rock will be showcasing their harmonious gifts throughout September.
At the opening on the Original Stage in Market Square the timetable is as follows: 11:30am - The Glass Room (alternative rock); 12:30pm - Ed Reed Band (indie/rock); 1:30pm - Sandweaver (indie/space/rock/pop); 2:30pm - Half Hour Hotel (rock); 3:30pm - Amy (rock); 4:30pm - Stuart James Band (rock, funk, rhythm and blues); 5:30pm - Pirate & Cobie (electro indie); 6:30pm - Raising Maisie (good old fashioned British pop) and; 7:30pm - Tell Wolves Tales (alternative rock).
A spokesperson for Horsham Festival of Sound 2012 said: “We are forever indebted to our growing army of volunteers, this includes musicians, media designers, sound engineers, stage managers and bucket shakers who not only help out at our annual festival in September.
“We rely solely on the generosity of our sponsors and donations from individuals in the community, and of course all the highly talented local musicians, without whom Festival of Sound would not be possible.
“If you or your company are interested in sponsoring or donating please email sharon@festivalofsoundhorsham.com for further details.”
