Michael Clarke, Ellens Green & Rudgwick Gardening Association (EGRGA) chairman, said: “The Association was formed in 1945 and has more than 200 members in Rudgwick and Ellens Green, and some wider afield. We hold three shows a year and our summer show is particularly popular. The purchase of some large gazebos will help us to keep hire costs down.”

A police spokesman said the donation came from the Police Property Act Fund, which was made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.

Police Community Support Officer Tracy Field said: “I am really pleased that we have been able to donate to such a popular community organisation. The annual shows held by the EGRGA are popular village events that help bring local people together and have fun!”
