Horsham district's history in photos
HORSHAM Museum has opened a new display featuring some of the best views of the district's villages, taken from the Cecil Cramp Archive.
They have been taken from the Cecil Cramp Archive, and follows on from last year's Cramp's Horsham, showcasing some of the best views of 'Old Horsham' contained in the Cecil Cramp Archive.
Cramp's Villages gives a flavour of the range of the Cramp Archive: from the old uniforms once worn by village postmen at West Grinstead to the charabanc bus at its stop at Warnham; with photographs of a pony and trap vying with new-fangled motor cars at Storrington to the outcome of a motor accident at Handcross in 1906.
Cecil Cramp was the son of the noted jeweller and antiques dealer on West Street, who took up amateur photography and film making as a pupil at Collyer's Grammar School in 1929.
