HORSHAM District Council is continuing to maintain service as usual during the current and predicted severe weather.

The Council’s website and Horsham District Council’s facebook page are being promoted as the best place to look for the latest information about Horsham District Council services and if any services have had to be suspended.

Alternatively, call Horsham District Council on 01403 215100. This number is available out of office hours (24 hours, 7 days a week) in an emergency.

On the Council’s website,the SNOW CODE (both detailed below) is listed, giving advice about how residents and others can best deal with snow.

A summary of what’s happening to Horsham District Council services as at 1200 hours on Wednesday 23 January 2013 is given below:

Household refuse and recycling collections:

All Horsham District Council refuse and recycling collection crews are out today (Wednesday 23 January) and collecting as much as they possibly can.

Householders are being asked to put out their bins for collection as usual and we will collect them as soon as possible.

Other Horsham District Council services:

Horsham District Council’s services are still being maintained as far as possible.

Vulnerable residents, including those who use the Council’s ‘Community Link’ alarm, have been and are being contacted to check if they are safe. Council staff and neighbours are also being asked to check if any vulnerable neighbours have enough food and heat in the current weather conditions.

Council leisure centres and entertainment venues remain open until further notice.

Help and advice from Horsham District Council continues to be available for the homeless and others in housing need.

Gritting of public areas:

Staff at Horsham District Council have been assisting West Sussex County Council in its task of spreading grit in public areas.
