Horsham car park closed for five days from Monday
Jubilee car park in Horsham
The Jubilee car park next to the Superbowl in Horsham Park will temporarily close for five days from early morning on Monday October 1 until the afternoon of Friday October 5 in order for improvement works to be completed.
These works, funded by developers’ contributions, started in June and the car park has remained open during this period.
As the work nears its completion, it is necessary for the car park to close to vehicles entering from Horsham’s Albion Way so that the final stages of the work can take place. Pedestrian access into the car park area from Jubilee Way and in and around Horsham Park will not be affected.
The temporary closure is needed to carry out the removal of the old traffic blocker and road hump and to construct the new entrance into the car park.
The entrance has been designed to minimise disruption, however works cannot be undertaken safely without the temporary closure.
Those people directly affected by the temporary closure have been informed and advance information notices will be displayed in the car park.
The Council is asking the general public to seek alternative parking in the other car parks such as Swan Walk in Albion Way, North Parade, and the Pavilions in Hurst Road.
A list of council owned car parking locations in Horsham town centre can be found on the Horsham District Council website (www.horsham.gov.uk).
The exciting new design to Jubilee car park incorporates a dedicated pedestrian link between Horsham Park and Horsham town centre, a pedestrian area including the Light Tree sculpture, together with an overall increase in the number of parking spaces available to the public.
