Horsham and South Downs MPs waiting as Prime Minister reshuffles Cabinet
Horsham MP Francis Maude
Horsham MP Francis Maude and Arundel and South Downs MP Nick Herbert are this morning (Tuesday September 4) waiting to hear whether they will be in the same positions in Government.
Following the formation of the Coalition Government in 2010, Mr Maude was appointed Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General.
He was first elected Member of Parliament for Horsham in 1997, and again in 2001, 2005 and 2010. From May 2005 to July 2007 he was chairman of the Conservative Party and he was appointed Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office and Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster in 2007.
Mr Herbert has been in his role as Minister of State for Policing and Criminal Justice, working in both the Home Office and Ministry of Justice since the 2010 General Election.
Before that from December 2005 David Cameron appointed him as the Shadow Minister for Police Reform. In July 2007 he was promoted to the Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Secretary of State for Justice. In January 2009 he was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
