An update on an experimental Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) for East Street and Market Square in Horsham was discussed by North Horsham County Local Committee on Monday.

The committee approved the TRO in March to ban all vehicles in East Street and Market Square during core shopping hours (10.30am and 4.30pm).

It also included the relocation of designated loading bays and parking spaces for blue badge holders. The scheme is on target to be billed at a total cost not exceeding £10,000. The project has been entirely by Horsham District Council.

Committee chairman Brad Watson OBE said: “We introduced these restrictions to encourage more people to enjoy the area. We are also keen to hear the views and opinions of local residents and businesses, and I would urge people to share their thoughts by completing the form on the West Sussex County Council website before Friday October 26.”
