Harvest Festival celebrations
Youngsters at the Harvest Festival
The children at Storrington First School celebrated the Harvest Festival on Friday October 5.
The day began with a Harvest Assembly in the morning, which was well supported by family and friends.
Some of the children took part in the produce competition which included the longest runner bean, decorated fairy cakes, pictures plus lots more.
Mr Smart, the school’s headteacher, said: “The children worked very hard growing their own produce and baking. The standard of drawings in the picture category was amazing. Well done to all the children who took part.”
After school, family and friends bought produce donated by the children, which raised a total of £150, £100 of which has been donated to Christian Aid and the remaining £50 to go towards cooking in the school.
