GREEN WASTE: Chance to grill councillor on plans for annual £29 green waste charge

Andrew Baldwin (Con, Holbrook East)

Andrew Baldwin (Con, Holbrook East)

Readers will be able to quiz the council’s cabinet member on environment issues tonight (Thursday March 7) on issues such as the new green-waste charge.

All Horsham district residents wishing to have their brown-topped green-waste bin will be levied with an annual £29 charge starting later this year.

The charge was announced as part of Horsham District Council’s medium term budget strategy late last year.

Andrew Baldwin (Con, Holbrook East), cabinet member for the environment, will be answering the public’s questions on Facebook from 6.30-7.30pm this evening.

Questions can be emailed before the chat to contact@horsham.gov.uk

For full coverage of tonight’s event, visit our Live Blog page.

Mr Baldwin said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to get their questions answered on this new scheme.

“The council has received lots of questions and comments on its social media sites already and I think it’s important that I address those who have concerns directly and hopefully answer any queries that people may have.”
