Two local stars from the popular TV show The Great British Bake Off are set to bring their tasty talents to Horsham.

Sarah-Jane Willis and Cathryn Dresser will be running a stall together at Horsham Market every Saturday from October 27.

The BBC2 show, judged by cookery writer Mary Berry and professional baker Paul Hollywood, has been the most popular series yet and saw contestants being tested on every aspect of their baking skills.

But despite this, Cathryn, aged 28, from Pease Pottage is nervous about having her baking judged by members of the public.

She said: “I’m a bit scared because it gives everybody the chance to judge us for themselves, but it will be fun.”

“We are going to sell all sorts of baked goods and hope to do a different theme each week.

“The first week will be a Hallowe’en theme but we will be doing both sweet and savoury over the weeks just like the format of the show. So for example we will do a pastry week, pies, cakes and bread.”

Also looking forward to sharing her baked treats alongside fellow contestant Cathryn, Sarah-Jane, 29, from Bewbush, told the County Times she is pleased about running the stall locally.

“I’m really excited to be working with Cathryn. It’s nice to be able to do something practical and share our food with everyone.

“Horsham is local to both of us and we go to the market ourselves about twice a month. It just felt like the right setting and environment for us.

“I’ve had lots of tweets from people saying they’re excited about it. I’ve even heard people saying they will have road trips to come and see us so I hope it all goes well!”
