Flooding closes railway line south of Horsham

TEMPLATE

TEMPLATE

Flooding has closed the railway line between Horsham and Barnham this afternoon (New Year’s Day).

Southern Rail says that the water level is above the running lines on the northbound line and therefore not safe to run trains.

Last week’s landslip on the railway line at Ockley continues to cause problems.

There is no direct route available between Victoria and Gatwick Airport.

Instead, Southern is operating a service between London Victoria and East Grinstead with onward bus connections for Gatwick Airport.

On the roads, the A29 at Pulborough is just passable at the A283 Lower Street junction, because of surface water.

Rail commuters are advised to check the website prior to travel at www.southernrailway.com
