Fire on Gatwick train prompts London Victoria evacuation

A fire on a Gatwick Express train has prompted the evacuation of London Victoria station at the start of the rush hour this morning (Thursday).

Southern Rail said: “”No one was hurt which was good.”

National Rail said trains were unable to run to or from the station until further notice while a notice on the Gatwick Express website said “mass disruption” was expected, while.

The London Fire Brigade has sent two appliances to the station.
