Electrical fault causes Steyning house fire
Fire crews were called to a house fire in Mouse Lane, Steyning, around 8.30pm on New Year’s Eve.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus dealt with the fire, which had started in an electricity box, before checking the property with a thermal imaging camera.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service report that about a fifth of the house had been damaged by smoke.
