Driver in collision with fallen tree at Crabtree

A woman escaped uninjured after her car was involved in a collision with a large tree that had fallen across the A281 last night (Wednesday July 23).

Police and ambulance services were called to the scene near the junction with Mill Lane at Crabtree, between Lower Beeding and Cowfold, at about 10.30pm.

The elderly female driver was medically assessed at the scene by ambulance paramedics.

No one was trapped in the incident.

The road was closed while the tree was removed.
