editorial image

Three intruders stole cash from a home in Henfield, police say.

The occupants, who police describe as being in their eighties, answered the door to three men asking to use the telephone.

The men said they needed to inform the next door neighbour that a relative had died.

While two of the offenders remained with the victims the third one searched and stole some cash from the address. The men left when asked to go by the victims.

The incident happened in Manor Way, Henfield, at 7.30pm on Tuesday March 12.

DC Debbie Birch said; “We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen three suspicious men, or vehicles, in the area around this time. Local residents are asked to remain vigilant and if in any doubt about who is calling at your front door contact the police.”

Any witness or anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 1696 of 12/3, or to contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
