Two colourful Christmas markets in support of different charities will make their way to Horsham to celebrate the festive season.
Horsham’s Christmas Charity Market will return to the Carfax on Sunday, November 25 and the Fairtrade Christmas Market will take place on Saturday, December 8 at The Barn in the Causeway.
The charity market in the Carfax, returning for the fourth year running, will be held between 10am and 4pm and has been organised by the Rotary Club of Horsham in association with Horsham District Council and will be sponsored by Spofforths Private Client Services.
Around 25 charities will use the opportunity to present a fantastic selection of gifts, food and competitions, whilst also promoting the great things that they do in the community and overseas.
It will run alongside the ‘Saturday Market’ traders and there will also be the rare opportunity for visitors to enjoy rides on Santa’s Big Red Steam Bus.
Philip Lansberry, Director of Spofforths Private Client Services, said: “We are encouraging people to visit the market as it provides the perfect opportunity to support local charities and get into the spirit of Christmas giving.”
The Fairtrade Market hopes to bring a touch of the exotic this Christmas when it runs between 10am and 4pm.
A dozen traders will be at the event including Oxfam, Tearcraft and Tradecraft.
Producer groups supported by traders such as Love That Stuff include those working for HIV/Aids orphans, deaf children, indigenous South Americans, Tibetan refugee children in India, widows and victims of human trafficking, landmines and torture.
The range of traded products available as gifts with an exotic touch run from textiles and clothing, to toys and beauty products from over thirty countries including Zambia and Afghanistan.
