Leading childhood bereavement charity Winston’s Wish has appealed for volunteers to run the Brighton Marathon for the charity in April.

Winston’s Wish is on the lookout for ‘enthusiastic and energetic individuals’ to sign up for the marathon on April 6.

Louise Brown, a fundraiser at Winston’s Wish in Horsham, will be taking up the challenge.

She said: “I have always wanted to run a marathon before I turned 30 and having attended the marathon last year and seen the amazing Winston’s Wish runners who took part, I felt inspired to run it myself.

“I know that by running in April, I will not only be raising money to help bereaved children across the UK but also making a big difference to their futures.

“At Winston’s Wish we believe that the right support offered at the right time can make a life-changing difference to the lives of bereaved children, young people and their families. We already have six runners in Team Winston and would love for you to join us!”

The charity’s registration fee for the marathon is £75, with a minimum target to be raised of £500.

Runners will receive a running vest, fundraising support and support from the Winston’s Wish cheering squad.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Winston’s Wish, funding the services that support bereaved children and their families in Sussex.

To book a place, call Louise Brown on 01403 211030 or email lbrown@winstonswish.org.uk
