A Horsham mum can no longer get her four-year-old son to enter a barbershop after an incident during a haircut last year.

Louise Aylott, who lives in Birches Road, now has to cut the hair of Alfie, four, who attends North Heath Primary School, but she says he becomes uncomfortable and fidgety every time she reaches for the scissors.

After an incident at a hairdressers he will no longer let her take him into a barbershop to get his hair cut

“He was really quiet [after the haircut] he is usually lively but he was really quiet and a different son.”

“Now he’s his bubbly self, apart from when I say we want to go to a barbers,” she said.

Ms Aylott said the entire situation had left her feeling extremely angry, but in some ways it was a relief after she was called to give evidence at court.

She explained: “Thinking about court coming up was really stressful.

“I wanted it over and done with.”

While getting his hair cut is a struggle now, his mum hopes he soon forgets the incident.

A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service said that a woman was found guilty of assault by beating at Chichester Magistrates Court on Tuesday February 12 and given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay compensation.

The case followed an incident at a Chichester hairdressers in August 2012.
