A272 speed reduction scheme

A SCHEME to reduce the speed limit from 60mph to 50mph on the A272 between Bolney and Ansty in Haywards Heath, will start on Tuesday June 1.

The 70,000 West Sussex County Council scheme will also involve other speed management improvements such as new signs, road markings, anti-skid surfacing and cutting back vegetation to improve visibility.

The work will take place between the A272 Cowfold Road, Bolney, and Butler's Green Road in Haywards Heath.

Work is scheduled to take up to 10 weeks to complete, weather permitting. It will take place Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm, and occasionally on Saturday mornings.

Temporary traffic lights and 'stop-go' boards will be used at various times during the course of the scheme.
