World AIDS Day is coming on December 1 (it’s the one day a year when HIV and AIDS is really on the agenda). Can you help us?
You can help by supporting HIV/AIDS charity AVERT in the run up to World AIDS Day - one hour can really make a difference.
HIV/AIDS is far from a problem of the past.
Across the world, the latest figures show that 2.7m people were newly infected with HIV and 1.8m men, women and children died from AIDS-related causes. Some 34m people are now living with HIV.
AVERT exists to do something about this, we are a Sussex-based HIV/AIDS charity. We work to avert HIV and AIDS, through education, treatment and care.
How you can help? We’re not asking for donations, just for an hour or two of your time to get out there with some friends and help us spread awareness, hand out red ribbons and hopefully have a lot of fun in the process!
We are holding street collections in the Brighton, Hove and Horsham areas in the week up to and including World AIDS Day.

Of course the time that is given is completely up to you, you can pop down with some colleagues for an hour or two, or just within your lunch break, any time at all that can be spared would be extremely useful!
All money raised will go to support the work we do to educate people about HIV and AIDS, to keep HIV and AIDS in the limelight and ensure that we can prevent further infection as much as possible.
This World AIDS Day, take the opportunity to get together, try something new, raise awareness and have some fun with AVERT!
