LETTER: We can't do better than learn from our Queen

So for most of us, she has always been there. She has commissioned twelve Prime Ministers and has been a steady influence for this country in a world of change and uncertainty. In a 2015 ‘YouGov’ survey, the nation voted the Queen as the person who provided the best moral leadership. She beat the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster to the post.

That moral leadership runs deep. In most of her Christmas broadcasts to the nation she has made mention of her faith. In 2014 she said: ‘For me, the life of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace… is an inspiration and an anchor in my life.’

Our Queen, like her father and grandfather before her, looks to the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, for stability in life. We all need that stability in a fast changing and increasingly insecure world.

We can’t do better than learn from our Queen and find that stability in Jesus.
