The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2016 offers a 100-mile course where participants will take in iconic London landmarks, the beautiful Surrey countryside and challenging hill climbs, all on completely closed roads.

It’s also the perfect opportunity to take part in fundraising, so Alzheimer’s Research UK is offering free registration to the event in exchange for cyclists raising £700 in sponsorship.

And if 100 miles seems too much, cyclists can cut off half the route and ride the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46 for the charity instead, with a minimum sponsorship of £350.

The 46-mile route remains mostly within London but with a short distance travelling through leafy parts of Surrey.

Every pound raised brings the charity closer to tackling the diseases that cause dementia, most commonly Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s Research UK will send t-shirts to all participants as well as a fundraising pack, ahead of the big day on Sunday 31 July.

Cheer packs will also be sent to family and friends and a charity cycling top will be sent to riders.

Kenneth Foreman, Sporting Events Manager at Alzheimer’s Research UK, said: “We have just a small number of places left for this unique event.

“Not only will those taking part get to see the iconic sites of London, but they’ll also get to ride through the beautiful Surrey countryside too, all on closed roads so you’re free to enjoy the scenery.

“With Alzheimer’s Research UK cheering points along the route, there is no better way to spend a sunny afternoon in July.

“Right now there are 850,000 in the UK with dementia, including more than 16,000 in Surrey and more than 72,000 in London.

“Alzheimer’s Research UK is leading the charge to find new treatments and preventions for dementia.

“We cannot do this without our supporters and I’d urge anyone considering this event to sign up.”
