LETTER: Resurfacing must be priority

It's me again complaining about the road surface on Greenway, Horsham.

I wrote to you a few months ago and you published my letter. In the letter I said an accident would happen in this road due to the extremely poor road surface.

After my initial letter to yourselves I emailed both our local MP and West Sussex County Council Highways, but I still have not received a reply from either of them as to when works would commence.

I recently drove down Station Road, Horsham, to find this was being resurfaced, this road was nowhere near as bad as Greenway - surely Greenway is a priority!

I have now read in this week’s County Times the article regarding road closures and Greenway is still not mentioned, this is anabsolute disgrace. This road surface damages car wheels and the tracking system to the steering and also the loose chippings from the asphalt can flick up and cause damage to cars and pedestrians.

Again l repeat there is an accident waiting to happen. This road is a disgrace and warning signs should be erected, but most of all this road should be resurfaced and now is an ideal time as the school is closed for summer holidays.

I ask that the highways make this road a priority and at the same time fill in the dangerous potholes outside my house and in Churchill Avenue. I will be watching with interest to see if we get any response to my complaint.

M. Peters

Churchill Avenue, Horsham
