LETTER: Aerial ballet is a delight

With regard to the article about gulls being a nuisance (WSCT 4th August, Horsham edition), I have never seen a single one at Hop Oast recycling depot.

Gulls will go wherever there are stretches of water nearby, such as Southwater Country Park and Warnham Nature Reserve.

As the housing development has not caught up with me yet, I often see up to a hundred gulls in the field behind my house in the winter. Their aerial ballet displays are a delight.

I would rather hear and see a gull than the billing and cooing wood pigeons, or have to walk among the feral pigeons on the Carfax.

Mr Case should be grateful he does not live in Cornwall, where gulls have learnt to snatch food from visitors’ hands.
