West Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to assist the RSPCA when a large hedgehog became stuck in a drain on Friday (August 9).

They arrived on the scene in Camelot Close, Southwater, at around 11.11am.

Five Technical Rescue Unit (TRU) officers used animal rescue equipment and tools to rescue the mammal from the surface water drain which took around two hours.
