Independent retailer La Vida Boutique opened the doors to its brand new shop on Thursday (August 27).
The woman’s fashion retailer has moved from its old home in Piries Place to a new location in Swan Walk shopping centre, opposite Marks and Spencers.
The shop was officially opened by store director Donna Camera who said she was very excited to be in the centre.
She said: “We are really excited to be here. There is a buzz of excitement and we have had lots of excited comments online.
“We love the new shop and we were really conscious to try and make it quirky. We like a little quirky as everything we do is quirky.
“The great thing about moving here is we will bring all our regular customers and also attract others who didn’t know we were in Piries Place.
“We are flying the flag for independents and are showing independents can succeed in Horsham.”
To celebrate the opening the store hosted a special VIP event where champagne was on offer for customers and the store remained open until 8pm.
Donna said: “Everyone is invited to the VIP opening.
“It is to thank our regulars for their loyalty and to meet new customers.”
The independent retailer has been trading in the town for the past 16 years.
The new unit is the fourth shop the company has been located in after previously occupying units in the Carfax and Piries Place.
Donna said it was the loss of Waitrose in Piries Place which prompted the store to move again.
She said: “We always knew we would be leaving when Waitrose left, it was always on our minds.
“All the traders knew that Waitrose were leaving and we were pro-active in looking for somewhere to go. Then we were given this wonderful opportunity to move here.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support. We wouldn’t be here without the fantastic support from our customers and staff.”
