CLOWNS, competitions, fun, and fireworks will fill Southwater as the village plans to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in style.
The fun on Monday June 4 will begin at 1pm with the opening ceremony on the Southwater Leisure Centre sports field, Pevensey Road.
Included in the ceremony will be Southwater’s Queen for the day as well as the National Anthem performed by Laura Hofton who will perform at the BBC Proms later on in the year.
Cirque Normandie, a non-animal circus, will be holding workshops and shows throughout the weekend and will perform a special Jubilee show at 2.30pm on the Monday.

There will be traditional games and competitions, a tea dance, and a dedicated ‘Kids Zone’ run by Southwater Youth Project housing arts and crafts for children of all ages.
Live entertainment will come in the form of acoustic folk three piece.
The Collector will be performing an acoustic set of material from their new album ‘Hinterland’ on the main stage sponsored by Cocos Style.
Back by popular demand will be our Zumba demonstration with Louise Kingston and a gymnastics display from locally based group Infinity Gymnastics.
Food and refreshments will be available to purchase with the addition of a fully licensed beer tent provided and managed by Southwater Sports Club.
Southwater Sports Club, Church Lane will host fun and games from 5.30pm with competitions and games.
Fireworks display and the official lighting of the Southwater Beacon will take place in the Glebe Field, Church Lane, from 9pm.
Live entertainment will end the day’s entertainment at the Southwater Sports Club which will be open to all members and non members for the night.
