On Sunday June 15, staff and residents at Care South’s Sussexdown care home in Storrington and the Friends of Sussexdown are inviting their friends, families and the local community to join them for a special concert and picnic in the home’s extensive gardens.
At 2pm, residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a performance by the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) President’s Band, whilst relaxing with a picnic with family and friends. The band is formed of 40 talented musicians from all walks of life, including ex-RAF and military band musicians.
Entry to the concert is £5 and each ticket includes a voucher for free tea/coffee and biscuits. All funds raised by the Friends of Sussexdown will go towards entertainment for residents, including live music, day trips out, and Christmas and birthday presents for residents, many of whom are ex-RAF veterans themselves.
Heather Rogers, Home Manager at Care South’s Sussexdown Country House Care home, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming residents’ families, friends and the local community into our lovely gardens for what promises to be an exciting event. It’s something our residents look forward to every year and we’d like to say a big thank you to the Friends of Sussexdown and the RAFA President’s Band for all their help and generosity in organising the event.”
Free onsite parking is available and visitors are asked to bring their own chairs and picnics. For further information please contact Paula Keene on 07964 929856 .
