Jobseeker stats remain steady

THE NUMBER of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in the Horsham district has remained almost the same over the period of one year.

Figures published by the Office for National Statistics show that in June 2010 there were 1,460 claimants compared to 1,456 in June 2011.

Nationally, the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance has risen by 24,500 underlining that the jobs market is still fragile.
