Jigsaw CABAS School were very pleased to accept a cheque in the sum of £2000 from the Guildford based Global Marketing Services experts, Banner Managed Communication (BMC), at a social bowling night recently.
Jigsaw is a specialist resource that educates and supports children and young people diagnosed with this perplexing lifelong disorder, based on Dunsfold Park in Surrey.
BMC invited Jigsaw staff to an evening of bowling fun and food at Spectrum Leisure Centre in Guildford. With 12 lanes booked out, teams of around 5 lined up against each other for prizes and glory – Dave Jones, Head of Commercial at BMC took home the prize for Top Individual Score of the night whilst a Jigsaw team in Lane 1 managed to bag the prize for Top Team Score!
Fundraiser, Steven Morgan was on hand to gratefully accept BMC’s cheque for £2,000 which will be spent on core gym equipment – specifically a cross trainer and a rowing machine – for the pupils at Jigsaw to use in their school gym.
Steven explained:“Our pupils require encouragement to engage in regular physical activity, so to be able to provide the opportunity for them to use selected gym equipment on a routine basis is hugely beneficial for improving gross motor skills, balance and turn taking - skills that they can take with them in the wider community when accessing other local leisure facilities.”
BMC’s Managing Director, Catherine Burke, says “As a company we have a very strong ethos of supporting local charities in a productive and effective way. We are really pleased to be able to help raise funds for Jigsaw CABAS® School and to have helped purchase their new gym equipment for the pupils use. We also feel it is important for us to support their staff who work so hard helping the pupils in class every day and we hope that events such as this bowling night will be the first of many!”
