It was all the more significant, for it was Alan, who inspired an 11-year-old Jack, to pursue a serious career in gardening eight years ago.

In the television interview Jack was able to explain how he had not only won several major RHS awards for his garden designs but was the owner of the six acre nursery, Jack Dunckley’s Birchfield Nursery that stocks an extensive 3,000 different plants and shrubs. Having a good knowledge of plants is one of the key factors that has put Jack in the forefront of horticulture in the south of England.

With such a wide selection of plants and expertise, the nursery continues to attract interest from customers both trade and retail. To help Jack with the garden design business, Birchfield have enlisted an assistant designer to cope with the many drawings, plans and calculations required.
