The 17th century Blue Idol Quaker Meeting House in Old House Lane will be open to members of the public this Saturday and Sunday (October 6-7) from 11.30am to 5.30pm.

The historic Coolham building, a Grade II* listed building, was founded by William Penn and others, and is one of the most important Quaker meeting houses in the country.

As part of Quaker Week 2012, the meeting house will be open to the public, with a meeting for worship at 10.30am on Sunday, while in the barn there is a small exhibition on the life of William Penn, who went on to found the city of Philadelphia and state of Pennsylvania.
