A bedroom was badly damaged in a blaze which firefighters have classed as ‘deliberate ignition’ near Billingshurst yesterday (Monday March 24).
The emergency service was called to a detached home in Broadford Bridge Road, Broadford Bridge, at around 5pm.
The fire alarm was sounding and a first floor bedroom was severely damaged in the blaze.
The remainder of the first floor was damaged by heat and smoke, while the ground floor was slightly effected by smoke.
Firefighters carried out some salvage work.
Police were in attendance and the incident has been classified as ‘deliberate’.
