Tim Stocker’s image of a lone swan has been chosen as March’s image and Christopher Mills’ picture of a quail in a poppy field is featured in June.

As well as close-up shots of beautiful wildlife, the winning pictures also feature dramatic seascapes, rolling downland and urban images of Sussex through the seasons.

An atmospheric black and white image of the Brighton skyline in the midst of a starling murmuration by Mark Bromilow from Hove was selected as the overall winner.

All 12 winning images will be available as a 2012 calendar for computer desktops and can be downloaded free from Sussex Wildlife Trust’s website from December 1.
