Horsham Neighbourhood Policing Team will be hosting a meet and greet in Horsham town centre this week.

The team will be in Swan Walk Shopping Centre from Monday (October 19) until Saturday (October 24).

PCSOs Adrian Bell and Charlene Parsons will be present from Monday until Friday, between 10am and 2pm, with PCSOs Tracy Bicknell and Tracy Field taking over the reins on the Saturday.

Public engagement officer Louisa Hull said: “This is a great opportunity for us to talk to local residents face to face about our work in the district.

“Uniformed staff will be on hand to discuss our autumn burglary campaign, Operation Magpie, which launches on Wednesday (October 21).

“We will also be discussing Rural Crime Awareness Week and Operation Signature which deals with scam and fraud awareness.”

Representatives from Trading Standards will be joining the team on Tuesday October 20 to address issues regarding bogus callers and doorstep traders.

Horsham District Neighbourhood Watch will also be in the centre on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to talk to anyone looking to join an existing scheme or start up a new scheme in their neighbourhood.

Swan Walk centre manager Gill Buchanan said: “Customer safety is a priority for us at Swan Walk and we work very closely with the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Horsham.

“We have also been proud to sponsor a police car over many years and our customers will have seen it regularly in their communities.

“We are delighted to be able to host the team and their partners in the centre from October 19 and I am confident that all the advice and support on offer will be welcomed by our customers.”
