HORSHAM Library is set to close for almost a month.
The county council says the move will make way for improvements, including a self-service system.
It will be closed from Friday September 9 at 7pm to Monday October 3 at 9am.
The work to the library will also allow for a dedicated computer area and a more spacious children’s library.
West Sussex County Council’s deputy leader, Lionel Barnard, who oversees the library service, said: “The self-service terminals will allow you to borrow and return your loans quickly and easily by using the touch screen and following the instructions.
“You will be able to print a list of what you’ve borrowed, check when an item is due for return and make any cash payments. Staff will also be on hand to help.”
People can still borrow up to 20 items before the temporary closure. The nearest libraries to Horsham are Southwater, Billingshurst and Crawley.
