GAME Group plc, which owns GAME and Gamestation stores, confirmed on this week that the Horsham store will remain open following the appointment of administrators.
On Monday the company announced it had appointed joint administrators Mike Jervis and Stuart Maddison of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
This resulted in the closure of 277 stores in the UK and Ireland with 2,104 employees being made redundant.
The remaining 333 stores, including the West Street store, will stay open as the administrators search for a buyer for the business.
A statement released by the company said: “Further to our announcements of 21 March, the Board of GAME has completed its discussions with lenders and third parties without resolution, and has therefore today appointed PwC LLP to act as administrators for the Group.
“This decision is taken after careful consideration and ceaseless interrogation of every possible alternative. The Board would like to thank the teams of GAME and GameStation colleagues around the world for their exemplary dedication, passion and professionalism.”
