READING youngster Michael Hector’s loan spell at Horsham has been extended for a second month.

The stylish centre back played the final game of his initial loan in Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw at Folkestone, and the Hornets have reached an agreement which will see him stay at Gorings Mead until at least mid January.

Meanwhile, manager John Maggs hopes to have Gary Charman fit for Saturday’s trip to Hastings, while he is waiting on the fitness of striker Billy Dunn, who also limped out of the action on Tuesday.

Horsham play a Hastings United team in freefall, they have not registered a league win since October 2, and suffered a hmuiliating Sussex Senior Cup exit to County League Division 2 leaders AFC Uckfield.

Hastings’ last win in all competitions was more than a month ago, when they saw off Horsham 2-1 in the Isthmian League Cup.

Maggs said: “Nothing seems to be going right for them at the moment. But like us they have to start winning sooner or later. I’m hoping history is not repeated.”

Further good news for Maggs this week is that Jack Page has returned to training after undergoing a knee operation.
