THE ANNUAL four week Horsham District Food & Drink Festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

The 2012 Horsham District Food & Drink Festival runs from Saturday September 1 to Sunday September 30 2012.

The Festival is organised by Horsham District Council with sponsorship and support from local businesses. Without their support, the Festival would not be possible, so a BIG thank you to all.

Sponsors and local businesses supporting the Festival include: Camelia Botnar, West Sussex County Council, Federation of Small Businesses, The Resident, Horsham Advertiser, West Sussex County Times, West Sussex Gazette, Etc magazine, South Downs National Park, Collabor8 and Foundry Press.

The programme has been packed full with lots of special offers, discounts and events, courtesy of the participating businesses.

The Festival takes place at a number of venues across the District, so there’s a handy map to find each business. There’s plenty of choice for everyone, making it an excellent opportunity to explore the Horsham District, meet some of the local producers and ENJOY!

To avoid missing out, visitors will need a copy of the Festival programme.

It’s the definitive guide with a calendar of events, the tastings, the tours, the many special offers and discounts and the contact details for every business.

Visitors will need to have a copy of the programme with them when out on their travels, as many of the offers ask that they show it to qualify.

Visitors should prepare to take their taste buds on a terrific tour.

The programme will be available in libraries and participating businesses from mid August.

Roger Paterson, HDC cabinet member for the local economy, said: “This year’s Food & Drink Festival looks more exciting than ever. There’s been greater interest and applications from local producers and outlets.

“The Festival programme is in the process of preparation and is going to be bigger, bolder and brighter than ever.”

‘The Big Nibble – A Slice of Sussex’ event on the weekend of September 1 and 2 2012 is a local food and drink spectacular organised by Horsham District Council in conjunction with Horsham Markets, and is the launch event for the Food and Drink Festival.

The local produce fuelled event kicks off the whole month of celebrations.

Highlights of The Big Nibble weekend include a diverse local produce market on both Saturday and Sunday, extended from the weekly Carfax offer to include an even broader range of artisan food and drink producers.

There will also be a town centre ‘Nibble Trail’ with free taster portions from participating restaurants, pubs, cafés and market stalls.

A Beer Trail will also take place with samples of local ales from town centre pubs and bars, a Live Food Show with eleven demonstrations from accomplished local chefs and market traders, plus 40 live music acts covering various genres on five stages across the town as part of the Horsham Festival of Sound.
