HORSHAM’S namesake in Australia is gearing up for possible flash flooding over the next few days.
Horsham, in the state of Victoria, has seen 100mm of rain in the past 24 hours and now the council has distributed 3,000 sandbags to homes and businesses after 113 residents sought help with building damage.
In the coming days police are warning drivers to take extra care on the roads.
They are advising people to avoid travelling to flood affected areas in Victoria and any non-essential travel within those areas.
A woman was rescued from a four-wheel-drive vehicle just outside Horsham after trying to drive through some flood water.
The worst flooding, though, is in around Brisbane where 20,000 homes are at risk.
