Horsham’s Sussex Senior Cup clash away to National League South side and cup holders Whitehawk tonight has been postponed owing to a waterlogged pitch.

A pitch inspection for the third round clash at the Enclosed Ground took place at 12.30pm, where rain was pouring down on an already saturated surface, and unsurprisingly the match was called off.

Despite Hawks already suffering from a backlog of fixtures due to their excellent FA Cup run - which was the original reason for this fixture being postponed from before Christmas - the game has been hastily rearranged for Tuesday, January 12, at 7.45pm.

Hawks’ home league match with Eastbourne Borough on Saturday was also postponed as was the Hornets’ trip to local rivals Loxwood.

Broadbridge Heath’s third round cup clash at home to Ryman League Premier Division outfit Burgess Hill has also been postponed.

The match was called off after an inspection mid-afternoon. As it is the second attempt at holding the match at the Leisure Centre, the match will now be switched and played at the Green Elephants Stadium on Wednesday, January 13. at 7.30pm..

The scheduled Southern Combination League fixture between Broadbridge Heath and Horsham next mid-week has been postponed.

Eastbourne Town v Bognor, Three Bridges v Eastbourne Borough and Arundel v Little Common tonight in the cup are all also off.
