Horsham’s wing wizards have been told to stay patient in games and reap the rewards.
Darren Boswell and Kieron Pamment have been two of some of the stand-out summer signings this season and Hornets boss Dominic Di Paola wants them to keep working hard and see it pay off.
Boswell has scored eight goals in all competitions, while the latter has notched nine times with both providing countless assists with their excellent build-up play.
Both played their part in Tuesday night’s 3-1 win over Peacehaven with Boswell key to assisting two goals, one of which was fellow wide-man Pamment.
And Di Paola wants them to keep having a postive effect on the game when they can and work hard when they don’t have the ball.
He said: “With the wide players I keep trying to tell them as they get frustrated as they don’t see the ball a lot.
“The attacking players are not going to be the star of the game every week, but it’s about impacting on the game when you are not the star.
“On Saturday, Pammy (Kieron Pammant) ran himself into the ground, but barly saw the ball. He put in a performance for the team and if they can get that into their heads, then we will be a much better side.
“They are both really good when we are firing, but when they don’t see the ball they get a bit down hearted and they are on the back foot on the ball.
“I am hoping that the penny is going to drop that you get what you put into football.
“If you do all the rubbish stuff sooner or later, like with Bozzy (Darren Boswell) against Peacehaven, he didn’t see the ball much in the first half and then he had ten minutes where he saw it, didn’t see it again, and then set up another goal, it’s the nature of a winger, you are not always in the game.”
