High-profile names amongst Hornets’ 15 summer signings

Horsham have revealed a number of high-profile names amongst 15 summer signings announced this morning.

New boss Dominic Di Paola has been busy over the break and has brought in a number of proven players as well as retaining one of last year’s squad.

Former Hornets Charlie Farmer, Billy Franks, Niall O’Hagan and Evan Archibald (all ex-East Preston), have all returned to the club along with the experienced Mark Knee.

Popular central defender Tom Gilbert, who saw them relegated from the Ryman League South Division last season, is the only player to remain with the homeless side.

A number of new faces have joined for the upcoming season in the Southern Combination League including former Peacehaven & Telscombe captain Ashley Jones.

The defender reached the Ryman Premier with the Magpies having played through their rise from the County League.

Di Paola has also brought in a number of his other trusted players from his double-winning season at East Preston.

Leading with reliable midfielders Kevin Keehan and Joe Shelley - the latter goalscoring central player netted 89 goals for EP in around 150 appearances and has won the County League two years in a row after joining Littlehampton last season.

Also, signed are Jordan Clarke, Rob Boddy, Alex Duncan, Darren Boswell and Shaun Charles, as is Kieron Pamment, who was also at champions Littlehampton last season. having helped East Grinstead secure promotion to the Ryman League in 2013/14.

Di Paola is hoping to complete his signings later this week.
