Verity Dods, of Charrington Way, Broadbridge Heath, works as an MS nurse specialist at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, and will be donating her sponsorship to the MS Trust.

“People with MS can face difficult daily challenges due to their condition,” said Verity.

“A physical challenge like this seemed a small price to pay to raise awareness for this increasingly common condition.” The MS Trust is an independent UK charity for people with MS, their family and friends, and for all health and social care professionals who work with them. They provide information, professional education and fund practical research.

Multiple sclerosis is the most common cause of neurological disability in young adults, affecting 100,000 people in the UK.

In March this year Verity took part in the ten week Horsham Joggers ‘Learn to Run’ course in order to prepare her for the half marathon in Newcastle.
