Steyning Town’s eagerly-anticipated Sussex Senior Cup quarter-final clash at Whitehawk tonight has been postponed owing to a frozen pitch.

With a deep freeze and frost set on the ground this morning across the county, temperatures have struggled to get above zero degrees all day.

That has meant the surface at the Enclosed Ground has not thawed and the match was called off after a 12.30pm pitch inspection.

A new date is yet to be agreed between Town, who are yet to play this year, and the National League South side.
