Firefighters called to Horsham car park

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Horsham town centre car park on Tuesday (January 11) morning after a fire in the basement.

Two fire engines from Horsham were called to the scene at 10.27am after reports of smoke near to the staircase and lifts at the Blackhorse Forum car park.

Watch commander Kieran Smith said: “Once the smoke had dispersed we found that the fire was a three phase electrical intake from the sprinkler system.

“It was an accidental ignition and we spent 45 minutes clearing smoke from the outer area.”

The car park is also next to a block of appartments.
