Firefighters were called to a Billingshurst house last night (Tuesday February 26) after a smell of gas was reported.

They arrived at Arun Road at around 10.50pm where there was a slight smell of gas around a newly-fitted boiler.

The electrics were isolated and the house occupier given a precautionary check by ambulance paramedics.

The incident was then handed over to a gas engineer.
