Find out about growing seeds

CHILDREN from West Sussex are being invited to Old Barn Nursery & Garden Centre this month to find out all about growing seeds.

The garden centre at Dial Post is offering youngsters the opportunity to take part in free seed planting workshops on Saturday April 16 and Sunday April 17.

Manager Mig Ammolla explained: “Gardening is great fun for all the family and we’re keen to encourage children to get involved.

“At the workshops they can create a ‘cress head’ and pot up a pumpkin, both of which they can take home. Children attending a workshop must be accompanied by an adult.”

The workshops will take place from 10.30am until 11.30am and again from 2.30pm until 3.30pm on Saturday April 16 and Sunday April 17.

Mig added: “Gardening and, in particular, growing your own vegetables and salads is a great hobby.

“It encourages physical activity and helps teach youngsters about where their food comes from.”
