Horsham fans favourite Tony Nwachukwu looks set to join Worthing after being pictured at Woodside Road on Saturday.

The home-grown talent has been with the Hornets for the majority of six years since joining the youth set-up as an under-18.

We reported in last week’s paper that the winger, who was under contract last year, was set to leave Horsham for Ryman League South Division side Worthing or Premier Division outfit Lewes.

New Horsham boss Dominic Di Paola has admitted on numerous occasions that despite wanting to keep last season’s top goalscorer, he wasn’t holding out too much hope.

And the inevitable looks set to be confirmed sometime this week after Nwachukwu was snapped at Worthing’s ground on Saturday as fans helped out with a summer spruce up during the ongoing 3G work.

It is believed that the 23-year-old has been offered a contract under Rebels’ new joint managers Gary Elphick and Jon Meaney.
