CHAMPAGNE and cheers marked the grand opening of the latest addition to to Swan Walk in Horsham last Thursday.
Gerry Weber, next to Marks and Spencer, officially opened its doors boasting a ‘broad mix’ of women’s clothing.
David Fenton, UK retail manager for Gerry Weber, said: “The reason for coming to Horsham is that there’s a very strong potential for growth. We cater for something that the town needs - a shop with a great mix of women’s clothing.’’
Amanda Johnson, Horsham store manager, added: “Our variety of clothing is huge. We say the retail is aimed at 40-plus, but my 18-year-old daughter wears it, so it caters for many ages.
“We are very focused on customer service and we offer a personal shopper day for anyone who wants it at any time that suits them.”
The ribbon was cut by editor in chief of the County Times group, Gary Shipton, who said the paper was ‘committed to supporting business in Horsham and the surrounding towns and villages’.
“For that reason we are particularly pleased to welcome Gerry Weber to the town centre. It is perfect for Horsham and we have no doubt it will act as a magnet drawing in even more shoppers. We wish the business every success. While other town centres are struggling, Horsham continues to attact the very best names to its town centre.
“The shop was already full of customers which they and staff said was a result of their advertising campaign in the County Times.”
